The task team was re-integrated into PERCCI in 2008 to assist in developing a business response to pressing health issues of HIV/Aids & TB, and workplace wellness in general. The focus of the year was to launch the group and re-establish the quarterly open meetings bringing workplace health & wellness and HR practitioners, and stakeholders from various sectors together, for input and discussion on a topical issue, and to promote networking. Significant progress has been made in renewing collaboration between the municipal health department, NGO's and the private sector, and this will be vigorously pursued in the new year.

Highlights were the presentation of the Metro's Integrated HIV and Health Plan by Dr Ebrahim Hoosain, as well as a presentation on Best Practice in Workplace Wellness by Pierre Cloete from EXXARO, supported by Nolizwi Mdzeke and her team from the Department of Health and Dr Alex Govender of VW.

The task team is chaired by private wellness practitioner Dr Margo de Kooker with representation from various companies, parastatals, and the metro.
