The Chamber's Board consists of elected members, who proportionately represent the interests of member companies within their business sectors. The Board meets on a regular basis with the objective of directing policy and the affairs of the chamber. Board members who are elected to executive positions, serve in this capacity for two years, following which a re-election of a new executive committee takes place.

President - Alfred da Costa has a broad range of experience in the commercial arena, having owned and operated various businesses in the Eastern Cape, as well as having strong community and educational affliliations. His career began as chief business advisor for the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC). He was, for a four year period until 2000, a board member of the centre for Investment and Marketing in the Eastern Cape (CIMEC). Simultaneously therewith, from 1998 until 2006, Alfred served as chief executive officer of the Port Elizabeth Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PERCCI) He currently acts as the executive Chairperson of Ilithe Technologies (Proprietary) Limited , a prominent investment holding company in the empowerment sphere. Alfred is also a director with numerous other listed and unlisted companies, including Bidvest Group Limited, where he acts as a non-executive director and he is the Chairperson of IQUAD Group Limited. Alfred is also a member of the University of South Africa (UNISA) council and a member of the Council of South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI).

Vice-President - Bryan Dowley - qualified as an optometrist in 1972. Bryan entered private practice in 1973. He was elected as the Board of the Optometrist Association in 1984. He built up as successful group of practices between 1973 and 1991. Bryan went to London in 1990 and acquired the British qualification MBCO. He formed FML Holdings in 1991, a limited company providing various services to optometrists. Bryan formed a Preferred Provider Negotiators in 1992. He launched the Spec-Savers franchise in 1992. He became a Chairman of FML (a non-listed company) in 1993. He received the Mayor's Citizen of the Year Award - Business Category - Port Elizabeth in 1998. Bryan became a Director of PERCCI in 2006. He was a finalist in the Ernest & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year" in 2006 (won by Brian Joffe of BidVest). He received the Herald/ABSA Business Person of the Year Award in 2006.

Deputy-President - Jane Stevenson - owner of Jane Stevenson & Associates and partner in Frankly Speaking. Jane's focus as a facilitator is to unlock the full potential of individuals and teams through strategy, motivation and effective communication. She is past Chairman of the Businesswomen's Association and past Board members of Aisec (Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University), St Dominic's Priory and Childline. In addition to the PERCCI Board, Jane also currently serves on the board of the Businesswomen's Association nationally.

Hon. Treasurer - Greg Billson - Greg was born in Port Elizabeth. He initially attended Marist Brothers College and later matriculated from Victoria Park High School. He obtained his degree from the local university, UPE (now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) and completed his accounting articles through Grant Thornton Kessel Feinstein in Port Elizabeth. After working with Coca-Cola SABCO on their internal audit team, Greg joined Indevco Business Consultants (now Iquad Investment Incentives) in 1996 and is currently the Iquad Investment Incentives group operations director. Over the past 13 years, Greg has worked with and assisted many companies in accessing various incentives that have been available through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Greg is married to Vanessa and has two sons, Simon and Oliver.

Immediate Past President - Siya Mhlaluka is the current Divisional Executive Manager, of the Container Sector at Transnet Port Terminals. Siya began his business career in 1994 where he was for a two year period senior business advisor in business finance at Business Partners (Pty) Ltd. From there he went on to become regional pricing advisor for national power utility Eskom until 1999 and in that same year he became key account manager at the Container Terminal in the Port of Port Elizabeth until December 2002. He then moved on to become the Business Unit Executive for South African Port Operations, a division of Transnet Ltd until June 2007 and then held the position of Development Executive at the Port of Ngqura for Transnet Port Terminals (ex -South African Port Operations) until June 2008. His other roles include being Chairman of the Business Unit Tender Board as well as of the Business Unit Joint Transformation Committee. He is also a member of the Steering Committee facilitation of the Port of Ngqura and a member of SAPO’s national turnaround project of Employee relationships. Some of his key achievements include achieving the best results in the Spencer Stuart Assessment conducted on SAPO executive management and being nominated by the Port Elizabeth Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry to serve on its Board of Directors where he is also an Exco member and Chairman of the Transport Task Team. Siya held a two year tenure as President of PERCCI and is a Council member of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
